zinc sink

I just wanted to share with you a bathroom sink.  This sink belongs to my friend who is a landscape designer, she found it in a salvage yard for $200.  It is made of zinc and was originally intended for outdoor use

She  was going to use it in her garden, it was too pretty not to enjoy it everyday.   She had  it installed in an old English pine dresser to use in her master bathroom.  I just LOVE this idea - what do you think?

It's beautiful! I've never seen something like this in our old markets (and I look a lot!), otherwise it would have been mine!

I think she's going to have to ask people would they like to use HER bathroom!

Definitely not in the bedroom -but in a mudroom or better outside it would be marvelous.

It's beautiful but the rusty stains would bother me to no end!! I don't think I could use this in my house - I'm way too anal...

I've been listening to your great 80's music all morning while I clean my office. Good tunes!

Love that sink, but I'm with the other girls...couldn't wash my face using that sink.;-) I would have used it in a less intimately used bath...maybe a powder room...unless of course, it could be clear coated so it kept the character, but the surface was 'clean'.

I think it's very cool! You're not going to wash dishes in it, and I love the way it looks. Great character.

That is PHE NOM E Nal!
I have never seen a zinc sink and we were told that our now powder room used to have one which was connected to the old sistern directly below in the basement! Now I can picture what it would have looked like.

i love the use of unique elements in decor. this is pure raw design and looks wonderful on the pine dresser, a perfect marriage.
i for one would even tolerate the not so perfect finish..but that's how i roll, rust and all. we used a similar idea in our bath remodel...love the idea.
